Actionable Book Marketing: Sell More Books, Try a Freebie to Hook Series Readers, and Launch a New Book Series Simultaneously
Want to sell more books? Launch a New Book Series.
Sure, you hear this all the time, right? I tell people to launch new books to all the time. Write another book. But sometimes it takes hearing it from someone in the right way at the right time to realize this means you. Now.
Last night I was reading Chris Fox’s Launch to Market, which is a great read if you’re just getting into today’s book marketing scene and want to know how it all works. He pushes the same mantra I swear by, which is to consistently work on your marketing (more on this later).
Actionable Book Marketing: Facebook Ad Tweaks and SEO Tips for Self Published Authors
This week at 365 Days of Actionable Book Marketing, we’re a bit hesitant to make a confession. Marketing is starting to become enjoyable. I know, right? Hear me out, though. There are two very good reasons for that:
1. I’m starting to see results from my book marketing efforts; my sales are consistently higher than last year.
2. I’m getting good at it. This means less wasted time, more targeted efforts, more sense of what I need to do, and less hesitation.
365 Days of Actionable Book Marketing: Evergreen Posts, Re-title Blog Posts, 100+ Search Terms for Amazon Keyword Ads
This week in 365 Days of Actionable Book Marketing, we are on a keyword roll…tweaking blog posts, growing amazon ad keyword lists, and even re-titling to get those keywords in there.
Tweak and refresh your best evergreen posts to boost perpetual traffic. A huge chunk of website traffic comes from “hero posts” according to the Digital Marketing Podcast. So go back and tweak yours to be SEO-friendly, using the Yoast tips on your wordpress backend. Update with new, more relevant best-practice links, then re-send it out multiple times on twitter and fb, using relevant hashtags, so the right people will find you, to get more traction. Make sure to contact people you’ve referred to and ask them to pass on the link in order to get more backlinks. 365 Days Of Actionable Book Marketing: 36-40
Wow! Beginning a new year is always such a rocket boost for my business ventures. Since I wrote my year-end post it’s felt like a cobweb clear-out. I’ve had such a renewed energy to bring to all things book marketing. Here are a few actionable book marketing initiatives you can run with: Get Reviews, SEO, Leadboxes, Keywords, Google Rankings, and more.
365 Days Of Actionable Book Marketing: New Year’s Edition
I’ll say it right up front: I was nervous for this particularly personal post about marketing for self published authors. 365 days ago, I made it my public mission to complete one actionable book marketing initiative per day, all year long. I will say this: I worked my butt off. I did more marketing than I’ve ever done before. I wrote more blog posts than I’ve ever written before. I got more twitter and FB followers, grew my mailing list to over 1K, rebranded all my books, and learned how to use incredible platforms like Mailchimp, Instafreebie, and Bookfunnel. I sold more books. I took courses, found new information sources and made new contacts. And now I’m set to turn 365 Days of Actionable Book Marketing into a book and a podcast for 2017. But I did NOT achieve my original mission.
365 Days of Actionable Book Marketing: Bookbub Results Special
My latest 99 cent Bookbub promo ran Oct 22-26. I piled a lot of expectations on this promo. I have been reading so much about how these 99cent Bookbubs have changed people’s careers. If I read the phrase “my first five-figure month” again, and I haven’t written it, I’m going to lose it. (Don’t get me wrong, I’m so happy for all of you through my gritted teeth!) Why have I not been able to get there with my bookbub promos? Well, here are some reasons I’d come up with and attempted to tackle in the past year’s 365 Days of Actionable Book Marketing
365 Days of Actionable Book Marketing: Facebook Ads, Social Media
I’ve been feeling a bit frustrated in the book marketing arena this week, but trying to work through it. I’ve completed my facebook ads course and I’m trying to logically, objectively tweak my facebook ads and strategies. I’ve also had a talk with a friend regarding SEO for authors and it turned into a conversation about how I have to start being more, well, social on social media. This does not come naturally to me, but I am trying to find some regular activity that feels inclusive but not intrusive to share with people out there, so I can be a bit more personal. Any advice here would be great. I may have used up my allotment of dog photos! Get another dog?!
